When painting flowers, I try to present freshness of colour and then I realise : the end result is the object of the eye. Lots of Chinese artists paint carps and I wanted to find out how they feel when doing it. After observing the carps in the pond for a few days, I finally painted one capturing their movements and I felt like a blissful fish splashing in water. Colourful boungainvilleas surround every corner of Singapore. I painted one which I saw in Tanjong Pagar CC and what a pity, it was fading. Yet, the outcome was sweeter that the strong coloured counterparts.

As I have always wanted an aquarium in the home, it struck me that I could draw one filled with some of
the fish I like. See the cat enjoyed it too! The rose against the stone wall appears to reflect the delicacy of the rose, but it stands tall and
sturdy like the wall. This was captured from a photo after my trip to the Singapore Botanical Garden.

Looking at the young ballerinas dancing, it is like white peonies performing in the field. T love colour and this scene was too colourful to reject. Yes, how often can one be as happy as this fish? It is infectious.
